Albums for CdVs & Cabinet Cards

The albums were simple at the beginning, small and thin. By and by, they became larger because the size and the thickness of the cardboard changed. And, in addition, the Cabinet format was introduced. The album cover was ornamented with fittings made of sheet metal or tin. They were made of plush, leather or wood, some even contained music boxes.
The pages sometimes contained colored drawings or ornaments and there was space for up to six CdVs. It’s difficult to find albums in a good state and restoration is complex and expensive, so many still end up in the trash.
